Spring Enrichment Classes

Yearbook Group Pictures
On Monday, March 11th during the school day, yearbook pictures will be taken for the boy sports and other groups (Altar servers, Jr. Great Books, Speech, etc.) On Tuesday, March 12th during the day, yearbook pictures will be taken for the girl sports. Thank you for making sure students are in proper uniform and shoes as usual!
Library Seating Request
The SVdP Library is looking to expand its seating selection for students. Before purchasing new flex seating options, however, we’d like to get a sense of what kind of flex seating our students prefer. We’re currently searching for Bilibo seats, stability discs, and foam wedges. If you have any of these seats lying around your home, and are willing to loan them for a period of trial, please contact Mrs. Edmonds at bedmonds@svdpk8.com. Thank you!
7th Grade Service Project – Diaper Drive – March 6th – April 18th at Noon
The 7th Grade students have begun their annual Service Project – a Diaper Drive benefitting the Gabriel Houses! This year, the 7th Grade has set a very lofty goal of collecting 61,000 diapers for mothers and families (and most especially babies!) in need throughout the Archdiocese of Denver. SVDP Mobile Food Pantry
The Mobile Food Pantry (brought to you by SVDP Serves) has begun its travels from classroom to classroom, collecting food for the SVdP parish food pantry. Parents will receive an email the week before the bin will be parked at your child’s classroom. It will remain there for one week (Monday through Friday) before continuing its journey. Thank you for sharing from your abundance.

2019-2020 Home and School Chairs
Are you looking for a way to become more involved at SVdP? Then being a Chair on H&S may be the perfect fit for you! We are looking for 4 parents, who are interested in taking on the Chair positions of Fundraising Co-Chair, Faith and Family Co-Chairs, and Vice President. We will collect names of interested individuals through March 22nd and new Chairs will be announced in May. March 14 is our annual Faith Rally: Become the Saint God Made You To Be!
We need several parent volunteers at different shifts to make the day run smoothly, please sign up if you can:

The day begins with Mass and House activities, followed by Adoration, lunch, and recess. This year 7th and 8th graders will work with students from Nativity and the acclaimed “Rise Against Hunger” organization to create meals for those in need, while K-6 will participate in a saint-themed carnival. The day concludes with a rockin’ concert featuring the band “The Bad Boys of Worship.” Students should wear the shirt color of their household as posted in the classrooms. They have these three options for bottoms: uniform bottom, uniform-length shorts, or blue jeans. Regular tennis shoes. SVDP spirit socks provided! Please bring a bag lunch. It’s going to be a great day!
Help needed with Accelerated Reader Exchange This Week!
Students in grades 1st-8th grade will be awarded for their participation in the Accelerated Reader Program for the 2nd trimester. Ice cream sundaes will be given during lunch time on Monday, March 11th to students who met their trimester AR goal. March 14//Faith Rally
No hot lunch is served; all students bring a snack and sack lunch.
Attire: students wear a t-shirt from home that is the color of their household:
House of St. Matthew – wear a red t-shirt
House of St. Mark – wear a yellow t-shirt
House of St. Luke – wear a blue t-shirt
House of St. John – wear a green t-shirt
8th graders can wear their C4G t-shirts
Jeans or any loose fitting uniform-length shorts are permitted. (Note: students who prefer the school uniform are welcome to wear it).
Tennis shoes as usual.
This is a day that the 8th graders take on a leadership role and will lead the morning lessons. They have been working on building the lessons in religion classes and two students will be presenting and leading the lesson in each of the faith families on the Faith Rally Day. The sixth graders lead an afternoon rotation of saint-themed games while the 7/8 Graders will be participating in an upbeat and energizing service project in the cafeteria. The day ends with a praise concert and live band.
April 12//Grandparents Day
Invitations will be sent home the week of March 5th to invite Grandparents and Special Friends to visit the morning of April 12th. Be sure to let your special guests know so they can plan their travel. This is a FULL DAY of school and not a noon dismissal.
May 6//Vocations Talk for Parents
Parents are invited to join Fr. Ryan O’Neill for a discussion of the basics of discernment and how to talk to children about their vocations. All parents are welcome, but please note that this event is for parents only (no childcare will be available). The event is free admission. Click here for more information.
