Noon Dismissal Reminder
We have a Noon Dismissal on November 1. If you need aftercare please sign up with Mrs. Wooley via email,(mwooley@svdpk8.com) sign up in Extended Care, or leave a message at 303-777-3812, Ex.108. you must be registered to attend.
Veteran’s Day Program – November 8, 2019
If you have a friend or family member that has served, or is currently serving in a branch of the military, please reach out and invite them to our annual Veteran’s Day Program. Our students are hard at work preparing a patriotic and heartfelt presentation in which to honor and show appreciation to all service members past and present. A reception will be held in the school library beginning at 1:15 pm. The assembly will begin at 2:00pm in the school gymnasium. Crusader Cards: It’s time to start thinking about getting an early start on your holiday shopping! Keep an eye out for the Crusader Cards order form coming home on Oct. 29th to place your gift card order. These gift cards can be used to purchase your presents this holiday season, or make a great gift themselves for family and friends. For each crusader card purchased, SVdP gets an instant rebate- it’s fundraising while you shop! Get your orders in by November 14th, and you will receive your gift cards on the 22nd which is just in time for Black Friday shopping. Please send questions to Stef Liley at sdliley@yahoo.com.
Screenagers: Next Chapter- Tuesday Nov 5th – SVdP will host a screening of the new Screenagers Film: Next Chapter. Screenagers: Next Chapter, presents on anxiety and various skills and solutions to help build resilience in the face of hard emotions. Knowing how to lovingly and effectively be with your kids and teens as they experience difficult feelings and display challenging behaviors is immensely complicated. There are lots of solutions out there—knowing the science, knowing strategies and sharing this with our friends, colleagues, parent groups, and on and on is crucial. The showing will begin at 7:00 pm in the gym and be followed by a panel discussion. Any friends or additional family members are welcome to join. Students in grades 6-8 will be watching the film during school on Thursday, Nov 7th. If you are unable to make this date, Good Shepherd is hosting a showing on Thursday, November 14th. Access Sign Up Genius! Many classes are well underway in planning field trips, class readers, parties and teacher luncheons. If you have lost track of all the sign up genius’ for all your children’s classes, simply check out the volunteer calendar and click on the class event to take you to the sign up!

Toiletries and Drawstring Bags Needed
SVdP Serves is collecting supplies for Christ in the City Blessing Bags. Involve the kids in gathering up your household’s unwanted drawstring backpacks and travel-size personal care items (toothpaste, shampoos, soaps, lotions, sewing kits, etc.) No need to buy anything. Simply clean out closets and cabinets, bring what you don’t want to school, and drop it in the donation bin in the lobby.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
Our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive will begin on Monday, October. 28th – November 20th. Each classroom brings in their assigned item. Please click here for the list. Extra Halloween candy will also be collected in the front lobby. The food is organized by our 8th graders as their SVDP Serves service project and delivered to those in need before Thanksgiving. Thank you in advance for your support this year!
Bishop Machebeuf Open House – October 27th
Bishop Machebeuf High School cordially invites you and your entire school community to the Bishop Machebeuf Open House on Sunday, October 27 from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The day will include Mass, information sessions from each department, tours of the school, and much more. We would love the entire community to join us. Students will also have the opportunity to apply to Bishop Machebeuf and to win a registration waiver. We ask that if you will not be attending Mass, that all are present by 10:00am to begin the formal program. Please let me know if you have any questions at all.
