New Family Welcome – August 31st
If you are new to the school, please mark your calendar to come by the garden patio area (across the street from the school by the church) from 7:30-8:30 am or 2:30 pm-3:30 pm. Members of our Home & School will be there to give you a welcome gift and answer questions.
COVID Questions
Dr. Eric Simoes, parent of two children at SVDP, specializes in infectious disease, coronavirus research, and pediatrics, with specialization in respiratory illness. He is highly qualified to lead the discussion of the transmissible disease causing our current pandemic. He has offered his time to answer questions that parents have, via video format, related to this topic. Questions in regard to school operations will be answered by Sr. Dominic. Questions in regard to the science, medicine, pediatrics, preventative and treatment measures, will be answered by Dr. Eric Simoes. Please use this form to submit questions no later than Monday, August 31, at 9:00 am.

Please note, the Parent Student Handbook is undergoing major formatting revision this year and will be published with some changes later in the year. This handbook is almost identical to 2019-2020.
Ordering Lunch and Milk
Lunches will be individually packaged by the caterer, and they can be ordered through a third-party service provided, Boonli
You will need to know your child’s homeroom teacher. Click here if you need information on ordering for the first time.
Meadow Gold will deliver milk again this year. A signup to purchase milk for the year will come out in the next week or two. Until the sign up is complete, your child may take a milk (2% and chocolate) if s/he would like one.
Attendance and Student Pick Up or Drop Off during School Day
If your child is not going to be able to attend school, please email Acave@svdpk8.com (you can cc your child’s teacher) or call our office at 303-777-3812 to notify us. Please let us know if we need to be alerted to your child having COVID like symptoms that would lead us to discern whether a class quarantine is needed. If your child has an appointment during the day, please call the office at the above number 10 minutes before pick up so that your child can be called down and we can meet you at the front door to sign the child out, or in, to the building. Thank you for scheduling as many appointments outside of the school day as much as possible.
Back to School Night Plan
SVDP School is modifying the back to school night plan as follows:
Friday, September 4th
On September 4 you will receive a document that houses all the links you will need including:
- pastor and principal remarks
- remarks from Home and School
- remarks from our Gala Chair (drumroll please…)
- each teacher (or grade level) link to remarks specific to your child/ren’s classroom
Wednesday, September 9 6:30-7:30pm
After having a long weekend and a few extra days to watch these videos, each teacher will host a one-hour Zoom call for parents to “drop in” and ask any common questions. You will already have watched the video link on school wide information and specific classroom information. Now you can pop into your children’s homeroom teacher’s zooms to ask a question or listen in. Use the chat feature, or ask live if you have the opportunity. Because this is an open forum and other parents are on the call, private comments need to be reserved for email, or private phone call or zoom call.

Gala/Fall Raffle
The annual gala is an important event that raises critical funds for SVDP. Starting next week, we need your help with our Fall Raffle that helps defray the costs of our gala. Please keep an eye out for raffle tickets in the backpack/folder of your youngest child.

*** FALL RAFFLE INCENTIVES ***
This year, we will again be offering students incentives for selling their raffle tickets and returning their ticket envelopes by the below deadlines. These early funds help to get our gala running smoothly, which is the largest fundraiser for SVDP each year! Thank you for all of your support in ensuring that our Fall Raffle is a success!
Incentives include:
(1) Family Incentive – A ‘Free Dress Pass’ for every student in a family who returns ALL TICKETS SOLD by the Friday BEFORE the final deadline (or no later than Friday, September 11th at 3pm).
(2) Classroom Incentive – Any classroom that has 100% participation (each family sells at least one ticket) will have the choice of (A) a themed dress down day (B) an extra recess with ice cream, or (C) a movie and popcorn. The final deadline is Friday, September 18th by 3pm. Last year, we had four classrooms reach this goal and get to choose from one of the above options. Don’t miss out!

LAST LAP FOR REQUIRED ENROLLMENT PAPERWORK! PLEASE READ BELOW
Thank you to the nearly 50% of parents who have signed the required Archdiocese Tuition Contract Addendum. For the little more than 50% who have yet to do so, we need your help, please! While every family completed the standard two page school contract when they registered, the Archdiocese introduced this additional addendum which is a separate required document to outline terms and conditions in the event of school closures and online instruction due to COVID. Thank you!
If you are unsure whether or not you signed one previously, please go ahead and complete it now.

If you have already scheduled a vacation during this time, thinking that it would be a fall break, please do let your child’s teacher know at the beginning of the year. When the calendar was first set, the teachers/staff were going to use three professional development days this week, but we have cancelled (or delayed) those plans. Those three days will need to be inserted into the calendar as non student days, but we think it is wise to see if they could be used strategically should restrictions re-emerge.
