Online re-enrollment: January 22-February 5
We need to delay opening registration until next week, January 22nd. Current families will still have two weeks to complete the re-registration process before it is opened to new families. Re-registration will be entirely online and the link to register for the 2021-2022 school year will come with the Friday Forecast next week.
Easter and Spring Break 2021
SVDP plans to provide in person learning after spring break, returning to school on TUESDAY, April 13th. Families are asked to take personal responsibility for the five-day quarantine following travel, which will be especially important since we do not have an online learning week scheduled prior to returning to the building. To attend school on Tuesday, April 13, children should have returned from travel by Wednesday, April 7. If your family extends a vacation involving travel beyond April 7th, just add on quarantine days to equal five full days before returning to school. At this time, we are not using negative COVID test results to admit students earlier than the five-day quarantine.
Calendar Dates for SPRING 2021
Per the November 2020 Sister Direct, the full allotment of required professional development days for teachers and staff was not included in the published calendar for this 2020-2021 school year. At the time of publication there were too many unknowns to predict how to best schedule these days. SVDP is required to schedule nine professional development days between August teacher inservice days and the final day of school. Four have already been scheduled and used. Following is the schedule for all non student days for the spring semester.
3) February 12 – professional development day and necessary parent-teacher conferences* – Zoom (new to the calendar)
Protecting God’s Children
In an effort to assist in the monumental mission of protecting children, SVDP is partnering with you to present a safe environment lesson to your child. It is our cherished role as adults to fully protect children. In addition, we must also teach children/youth about their safety rights and boundaries, so that they have tools to protect themselves. This link is information about the program itself and the resources available to you. PLEASE NOTE: There are required action items on page 2 of the document with content you may need to return.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK
While Catholic Schools Week may look a little different than years past, we are very excited to celebrate our amazing school community and all of the groups who make is so special. Here is some initial information to help you get ready!!
SATURDAY, JANUARY 30 and SUNDAY, JANUARY, 31: Parish Appreciation Days
We are inviting students to participate in the weekend masses to show our appreciation for our SVdP Parish support. Please consider signing up your child(ren) to help out here.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 1: Parent Appreciation Day
Dress “like a parent” to honor them – choose their favorite sports team, college colors, or anything to represent your parents/family!
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2: Clergy Appreciation Day
We will pray a school-wide Rosary on Tuesday morning for and Father Hilton and the priests of the Archdiocese. What a powerful way to show our appreciation for our clergy! Tuesday is also “Red and White” dress up day, with judging for class participation, most red, most white, most school spirit, and wackiest.
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 3: Student Appreciation Day
Free Dress Day – the perfect way to celebrate and appreciate our students! And be prepared for some other fun activities and surprises for the students on Wednesday.
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 4: Teacher Appreciation Day
Our teachers are all super heroes – especially this year!! Please plan to honor them by dressing up as your favorite super hero! We will also host a special all school mass (some classes will attend in person, others will stream in) on Thursday morning at 10:00am (note special time).
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5: NO SCHOOL!!
DINE OUT: Support a local SVDP favorite, take the night off from cooking, and pick up dinner from Brightmarten on Thursday, Jan 21. Their in-person dining is very limited so will create a special SVdP takeout menu on their website. Order dinner from that menu and they will donate 15% of sales back to our school. They’d very much appreciate advanced orders, by Tuesday the 19th, but will accommodate day-of orders. Click here to order from our special SVdP takeout menu.

Gala In the Garden 2.0 and Golf on the Greens
Gala in the Garden 2.0
We are happy to be back and working hard to finalize our donations for a wonderful gala. We are so thankful and impressed with the auction package ideas and are excited to bring them to life! If you are looking to donate to the auction as a group or individual outside of your class gift this year, please consider supporting any of these fabulous packages through our wish list of items here!
Missed those holiday parties this year? Plan a class or adult party to auction at the gala! Hosting a party is a great way to come together as a community (when it’s safe!) and raise money for our school. Look for more information coming from your gala reps on class and adult parties for 2021.
Thank you to the families and businesses that committed as sponsors for The Garden to the Greens in 2020! There is still time to sponsor the Gala, the Greens, or both! To become a sponsor, complete this form. For additional questions, please contact Melissa Regan or 410.336.7097.
