COVID Update
Family decisions are the #1 factor in keeping COVID spread to a minimum in schools. This year is very different from last year, and much more normal. Thanks be to God. Please note the following updates with regard to COVID protocols.
- Parents provide masks for children. Disposable masks at school are available as a backup, but not regular daily use.
- Symptomatic children remain home until symptoms resolve, alternate diagnosis becomes known, or the child receives a negative COVID PCR test. Symptoms of concern include headache and body ache, low grade fever, cough, unexplained fatigue, sore throat, runny nose and GI issues, all of which may be indicators of COVID19.
- Monitor close contacts for 14 days by daily symptoms check, including temperature.
- Positive cases must still quarantine for 10 days from onset of symptoms, and must be fever free for 24+ hours without fever-reducing medicine, and symptoms must be subsiding, especially a cough.
- If a child with a positive case of COVID19 can be fully isolated in the home, close contacts and siblings are currently still permitted to attend school, unless they become symptomatic. If you cannot isolate the person/s with a positive case of COVID19, other members of the family should remain home for the duration of the quarantine.
- We are notifying parents of any homeroom class that has a positive COVID case, and we specifically notify parents of close contacts.
- We do not require testing; however if you are going to test, the professionally administered PCR is still the gold standard test that yields the most useful information.
- The quarantine guidance is provided in consultation with Denver Public Health.

Altar Server Training for Weekend Masses
The Altar Server Ministry got off to a fabulous start at the end of last year. We know it will just keep growing and getting better but we need you to do that. If your family attends Mass at St. Vincent’s on the weekends and you have a 4th grade or older child who is interested in serving at Mass, Father Hilton will have a training just for them. It will be September 21st from 2:00-3:30. Pizza will be served.
Please contact Beth Riviere at beth@saintvincents.org to register for a space. If your child attended the spring training, it is not necessary for him/her to attend this one. However, please send Beth an email to let her know you would like your child to be on the altar server schedule for the fall. Please remember, this training is only for students wanting to serve at weekend Masses. Students wanting to serve at school Masses will be trained at another time
