The Speaker Series continues
We will be screening of the new documentary Chasing Childhood followed by discussion on Tuesday, 2/15 at 6:30 in the gym. This event is open to the public so please invite your friends! Chasing Childhood is a feature length documentary that explores how free play and independence have all but disappeared from kids’ lives, supplanted by relentless perfectionism and record high anxiety and depression. What’s lost goes well beyond our idyllic conceptions of childhood past. Free play, unsupervised by adults, is critical for developing essential life skills: grit, independence, and resourcefulness. Many young adults appear more accomplished on paper, but by the time they get to college they are struggling, and lacking the emotional tools to be more independent. You can watch the trailer here. Any questions please contact Caroline Iannucci.

Community Opportunities
Supporting those affected by the Marshall fires
There are many ways we can be supporting our neighbors in Boulder county after the terrible fires last week. Please see this article from Denver7 for specific ways to help out, as well this invitation from our Archbishop to donate to a special relief fund for families in need.
Respect for Life Denver
Plan now to attend the Celebrate Life Rally and March on the west side of the Colorado State Capitol in downtown Denver on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022. The theme is ‘Honoring Courageous Mothers’. See details on our website and download our new flyers in English at this link, and in Spanish at this link. Please share everywhere that you can! Pull together a team at your parish if you have not already done so, and make plans ahead of time for your strong participation. Consider attending an early Mass where you are. Design parish banners, swag, t-shirts, hats, flags, etc., to set yourselves apart from the crowd in an exciting way! We hope to see you there.
