SAVE THE DATE – Parent Talk – Executive Function Part II on March 12th at 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Executive Function is one of the hottest topics in research and education. In January, two SVdP Parents: Cristina Porter and Carrie Schmitt taught our community what parents need to know about executive function. The presentation was so well-received that they collaborated to create a Part 2. Don’t worry if you missed Part 1! This will also be a great jumping-off point to knowing more about executive function. This presentation will be personalized to you (and your spouse). That’s right, we want to teach you about executive function in a way that highlights your executive strengths and challenges. Please scan the QR code here on this flyer to RSVP and get more details/links.

How many times have you asked SVdP or your student’s teacher, “How can I help you?” Well…. Here is a way! Please join your SVdP Family in Praying a NOVENA for our current teacher staff as well as for the recruitment of the right applicants to fill our 2024-25 vacancies!
What is a NOVENA you may ask? A Catholic novena is a form of devotional prayer that involves praying a specific set of prayers, often focused on a particular intention or petition, for nine consecutive days. The word “novena” comes from the Latin word “novem,” meaning nine. Catholics believe that novenas are a powerful means of deepening their faith, fostering spiritual growth, and entrusting their needs and concerns to God through the intercession of saints and holy figures. Novenas can be prayed individually or as part of a community, and they are a cherished tradition in Catholic spirituality. During a novena, participants typically recite specific prayers or devotions each day for nine days, reflecting on the intention and invoking the help of the saint or figure being honored. Novenas often culminate on the ninth day with a special prayer or act of devotion.
Praying for our current teacher staff can be a meaningful practice for several reasons. It can provide support and encouragement, wisdom and guidance, strength and resilience, health and well-being, a positive classroom environment, and acknowledgment of service. Praying for the recruitment of the right person for our upcoming vacancies allows for the alignment of values and goals, professional competence and skills, positive team dynamics, leadership qualities, and long-term success and retention. Ultimately, this will impact not only our children but the entire family unit and our entire SVdP Community.
So please…. Set your phone alarm for the next 9 days and let’s as a family join our SVdP community in prayer. Our prayers can make a difference. Matthew 18:20 (New International Version) states, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Diaper Drive — URGENT MISSION – WE NEED YOU – We are only 1/3 of our goal
Attention Agents of Compassion! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to embark on a covert operation to ensure the well-being and comfort of our littlest recruits. Our mission, codenamed “Diaper Possible,” involves executing a top-secret Diaper Drive at St Vincent de Paul.
🚀 Objective: We are asking the community of St. Vincent de Paul to donate as many diapers (size 4-6) from now until March 19th. We will have agents in the carpool lane every Tuesday morning/afternoon to collect your donations. You can also drop them off at the front office.
📢 Rallying Cry:
“Agents, assemble! Our smallest comrades are in need, and it’s time for us to make a difference. The success of ‘Diaper Possible’ relies on your generosity and commitment. Remember, no contribution is too small when it comes to ensuring the comfort and well-being of our tiniest teammates. Let’s make this mission an overwhelming success!”
Godspeed, Agents! The future of diaper security rests in your hands. 🍼💼
