No School on Monday!
As a school, this year one of our days off fell on the new State holiday called Cabrini Day. Here is more information on the origin of the day. We didn’t necessarily choose the day because it is Cabrini Day, but because it worked out best on our calendar this year. Of course, we know that Mother Cabrini is much more than just a humanitarian, she is a SAINT!
Parent/Teacher Conferences – October 8-9 – No classes for students
SVdP School Capital Campaign Update – Where Are We Now?
date of this letter, we have received pledges from less than 25% of the school families. A successful campaign such as ours is built upon a high level of participation from the community – irregardless of the size of the contribution. Whether you are able to support us with $20 per month, $50 per month, or even a $100 one-time donation, every gift is an important reminder of
your commitment to Saint Vincent de Paul School and your sacrifice for the strength of our community.
Teacher Endowment Update
Have you been wondering how your contribution to the Teacher Endowment has positively impacted our ability to appreciate our teachers? Our Endowment Committee presented on the present status of the Endowment, how it is being managed and the plan to keep making it grow on Tuesday, Oct 1. Please contact any of our committee members: Drew Elder, Joey Kinney, Brendan Krueger, or Courtney Parmalee for more information.
From our Endowment Committee: As previously communicated, on September 27, 2024, we proudly awarded our first inaugural “Gratitude Bonus” to our dedicated teachers from our Teacher Endowment Fund. This bonus, amounting to 7.5% of their base salary for all returning teachers, is a testament to our commitment to recognizing and rewarding the incredible work our educators do every day. As we look to the future, we aim to make this bonus, in addition to the Christmas bonus, something the teachers can rely upon every year and we strive to grow this bonus over time. We’ll be communicating more ideas soon! Thank you for your continued support and generosity. We will leave you with a few kind words from one of our very own teachers on the impact you are making through these contributions…
“I wanted to express my sincere thanks to the committee members and to all of the families who have recognized a need and subsequently made generous contributions to the Teacher Endowment Fund. My family, like many, continues to be challenged to manage the rising cost of living in the Denver Metro area. Catholic school teaching salaries have not been able to keep pace with salary increases necessary to support a family in these times. This bonus from the Endowment Fund helps make the mission of Catholic school teaching more sustainable…I cannot entirely put it into words, but I find this a reassurance that I am following the Lord’s will in my work. Thank you, and may God bless each of you as you have blessed me with this gift.”
Lost and Found
Please mark your student’s sweatshirts, lunch boxes, water bottles, etc. with his/her name. Our Jr. Beta Club has taken on the task of organizing our Lost & Found items and we will be communicating our new procedure soon. For now, the Lost & Found has been relocated to a space outside the Computer Lab where the students pass by every day. Please partner with us to help your child develop responsibility in taking care of his/her belongings and regularly checking Lost & Found for items.
