Veteran’s Day – MONDAY!
St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School would like to honor the men and women who have faithfully served our nation. We cordially invite Veterans and families in the community to attend an assembly and short music presentation by our 6th graders in the School Gym. This special event will be held on Monday, November 11. Refreshments for Veterans will be provided by Home and School at 1:00pm, and the program will start at 1:30pm. Please RSVP and/or direct questions to Mary Martin, Administrative Assistant, by email at mmartin@svdpk8.com or by phone at 303-777-3812.
Get your Yard Signs!
St. Vincent de Paul School Yard Signs are once again available for you to pick up. Whether you need your first one or a replacement, you can pick them up at the front office or in car line next week! We are entering our 25-26 enrollment season and need your help to spread the word about SVDP. If you have interested friends, family or neighbors, have them simply call the front office with questions or to request a tour.
Inclement Weather – School Closure Procedure Review
School Handbook p. 25 –
On snow days, it will be announced when St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School will be closed or have delayed opening. This is announced by 6:00 a.m., or the evening before if it is evident that the conditions are dangerous. The message will be delivered via text and email through FACTS, as well as posted on local television stations: KUSA (channel 9), KCNC (channel 4), KMGH (channel 7).
St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School usually follows the Denver Public Schools for weather-related closures and delays; however, there are times when we may be in session when Denver Public Schools are not. If there is any doubt, check your email and text messaging.

Trimester 1 Faith Award – Announced November 21 at school Mass
This is our 2nd year awarding Trimester awards based on the virtue that we’re studying for the year. This year our virtue is Faith – the virtue by which we believe in God and all that He has revealed.
Each homeroom teacher nominates a student that:
- demonstrates the virtue of faith both in and out of the classroom
- show faith through the regular practice of related virtues – respect, reverence, stewardship, generosity, gratitude, honesty, mercy, justice and zeal
- go above and beyond to demonstrate a desire to know God and follow him. “Lord, I want to see!”
- live out the believe that Jesus is present in every soul. Their actions regularly show that they have faith.
School Initiatives in Progress
Renewal of School Website and Branding
We are partnering with the Office of Catholic Schools and the Archdiocese of Denver Office of Marketing & Communications to review, revise and refresh our school website. They have taken our current logos and produced high resolution versions that will enable us to use our logo with consistency. Next week, a photographer will be joining us to take a wide variety of photos during the school day to be used for our new website and other projects.
Capital Campaign – pledges/donations still be accepted HERE
Building School Enrollment & Marketing Plan
Renewal of Strategic Planning – Parent Survey coming soon!
Overview – One of the initiatives underway at SVdP this year is to create an updated Strategic Plan for our school. A lot of work was done in 2018-2019 and interrupted by COVID. At a high level, the goal of the Strategic Plan is to identify and prioritize needed improvements to our school to allocate resources for the next 1-3 years. Our current renovation project takes care of a great deal of capital needs, but program and building needs continue. With the help of our community, we will identify both long-term improvements projects, as well as several smaller, short-term projects, to focus on for the next 1-3 years as we finish up our Capital Campaign and Renovation Project. SVdP has implemented strategic plans in the past and we would like to keep our eyes forward focused to be good stewards of our beautiful school and community.
