Blessing Bags

Students are beginning to assemble the “Blessing Bags” for those experiencing homelessness in Denver. Please bring to the Front Office any travel size toiletries from your travels or hotel stays. This is a very helpful part of our service projects.

Names on Lost Articles

Please make sure that you put your child’s name in their clothes, coats and lunch bags. Those that end up in lost and found with names are returned back to the child when the lost and found is cleaned regularly. All other items are taken to a local thrift shop.

Morning Car Line Safety Reminders

Please note that we have two morning carlines – one on Columbine Street (this is the shortest) and one on Arizona Street. All cars are expected to drive STRAIGHT THROUGH WITH NO TURNS. Please enter the Arizona carline from Elizabeth or a street further east. (The Arizona carline extends past the stop sign at Columbine and Arizona. Wait your turn in this line, if you choose to use this carline, instead of turning into this line.) Please be attentive to the following:

the carlines are constantly moving; no sitting or waiting by the curb, even on cold days
pull as far forward as the line allows you, not stopping just at the entrance gate
for all car line procedures, please see Appendix A, page 55.

Extended Care Reminder – RSVP for March 1st

March 1st is a NOON dismissal for students. If you are interested in having your student attend Extended Care for that day, please let Mrs. Wooley know because space is limited. You must be registered for Extended Care to attend.

SVDP Mobile Food Pantry

The Mobile Food Pantry (brought to you by SVDP Serves) is ready to begin its travels from classroom to classroom, collecting food for the SVdP parish food pantry. Parents will receive an email the week before the bin will be parked at your child’s classroom. It will remain there for one week (Monday through Friday) before continuing its journey. Thank you for sharing from your abundance.

Accelerated Reader Ice Cream and “Point Exchange

The end of the second semester comes to a close on Monday, March 4th and with that, we will be rewarding students (1st-8th grade) for their participation in the Accelerated Reader Program! Ice cream sundaes will be given during lunch time on Monday, March 11th to students who met their trimester AR goal. Students who exceeded their goal by 10 or more points will be invited to spin a prize wheel on Thursday, March 7th. Your child will be able to spin the prize wheel once for every 10-points they earned in excess of their second trimester goal.

Help is needed on distributing ice cream sundaes and prizes! Please contact Stephanie Carreira stephaniecarreira@yahoo.com if you are able to help.
