Coin Crusade Success!!
Thank you students and teachers for participating in this year’s Gala Class Challenge with such enthusiasm! The hallways were buzzing with giggles, screams, schemes, and laughter! The students raised $5,006.82 in three days and in a total of only 15 minutes! They had loads of fun and we could not be more proud of them! They certainly did their job of searching high and low for coins. We totaled an amazing 27,457 pennies, and that is not to mention the silver coins and dollar bills that were brought. Mrs. Yoder’s Fifth Grade class came up with the perfect strategy and it certainly paid off with the overall highest total. They will be enjoying an Illegal Pete’s catered lunch and dress down day. Ms. Kurulak – First grade, Ms. Hazell’s – Second grade and Ms. Brown’s- Sixth grade also did a great job and will get to have their very own dress down day on February 12th. Thank you again and way to GO CRUSADERS!!
Blessing Bags
Students are beginning to assemble the “Blessing Bags” for those experiencing homelessness in Denver. Please bring to the Front Office any travel size toiletries from your travels or hotel stays. This is a very helpful part of our service projects.
7th Grade Musical Request
Mrs. Smeltz is looking to borrow multiple “Christmas projector lights” for the musical. If you can help, please email her at ksmeltz@svdpk8.com.
Kidscreen – Marion Downs Center
If you are interested in having your student tested with Kidscreen this year, please contact them directly at the Marion Downs Center at 303-322-1871. We will not be scheduling testing for students beyond preschool this year.

SVDP Mobile Food Pantry
The Mobile Food Pantry (brought to you by SVDP Serves) is ready to begin its travels from classroom to classroom, collecting food for the SVdP parish food pantry. Parents will receive an email the week before the bin will be parked at your child’s classroom. It will remain there for one week (Monday through Friday) before continuing its journey. Thank you for sharing from your abundance.

Gala Information
Thank you to the SVdP families who have stepped forward to cover the beer, wine AND liquor for the event! We are so grateful for your generosity. The proceeds for all of the liquor sales will go directly to the school, which is new this year!
We are in the final countdown to gather all donations for the gala, with the deadline of 2/22 fast approaching! Any and all ideas are welcome, some WISH LIST items include:
– Staycations – think a fun Cherry Creek hotel like the Halcyon or The Jacquard, or The Ramble Hotel downtown, paired with a gift card to a nearby restaurant or spa
-Mountain getaways- stays at a mountain home or hotel

Come out and support our teams finishing up the basketball tournament. SVDP has FIVE TEAMS still playing in the tournaments, two of which are championship games this weekend. Below is the information for all five games:

February 19//Mod Market Dine-in Event
Join SVDP community at the Glendale Modern Market for diner on February 19th! Mention the SVDP fundraiser and 50% of proceeds will be donated to the school.

Invitations will be coming out soon to invite Grandparents and Special Friends to visit the morning of April 12th. We look forward to seeing everyone that day at SVDP!
Noteworthy Items of Interest
- Denver Nuggets Catholic Families Night is Sunday, February 24th at 3:00 pm. Click here for more information on how to purchase tickets.
- Come and ride the Ski Train at a special rate for our school – Saturday, March 9th from 6:30 am until we return at 6:40 pm! There is a lounge car and you can bring your own food also to eat on the train. We only have 56 spots left… It’s also possible to just ride the train round trip there are shuttles at the Winter Park station that take people into town and to participate in other activities!
